appearance,
appearance:[/blockquote]
For a guy, Kale is actually short standing at only five foot nine. His younger sister is actually only two inches shorter than him and with heels she can be taller than him. Although he claims not to care about petty issues, he is bothered by his height. Thankfully he’s normally on stage where he appears taller and he’s never like basketball so he’s been safe from being humiliated. After being short for so many years, he’s eventually gotten over the problem. He knows there is no way of changing it so why bother with complaining? One thing is for certain, he isn’t super skinny like some of the guys these days. Instead he’s actually slightly muscular due to working out. He can still proudly pull of skinny jeans.
At birth, Kaleb had light blonde hair. By the age of two, his hair had mellowed out to a light brown that gradually got darker the older he was. There are times when his hair will get a little light then his current chocolate brown color, but that is normally after spending several days in the sun. Ever since he was sixteen, Kale has decided to wear his hair on the longer side though he will every once in a while cut it short when he gets bored with it. His hair grows back fast which results in him not caring about cutting it, plus he doesn't really care about his appearance in general. Along with having natural brown hair, he also has dark brown eyes that he doesn't like too much.
Clothing is something that he normally completely clueless about. To him a shirt is a shirt and jeans are jeans. Normally his friends are the first to tell him that his outfit really does look awful. Normally he wears a pair of black skinny jeans along with a shirt. His favorite line of shirts is Glamour Kills although he does also wear band t-shirts half of the time. His clothing addiction would be v-neck shirts and he loves whenever he buys a new v-neck. Normally when he buys a v-neck it is a solid color. For some reason he isn't a big fan of v-necks with a pattern on them. Although he loves hoodies, he rarely wears them out in public and instead only wears them whenever he's at home with his friends.

personality summary:
As a guitarist, Kale isn’t afraid to go on stage and raise a little hell. He’s the party king and is as outgoing as they get. Nothing and no one scares him. Public embarrassment is at the top of his list of fears yet he does a lot of embarrassing things. Normally he plays off anything that he does as a joke. There is no denying that Kale isn’t afraid of making fun of him which is a natural reflex whenever he says or does the wrong thing. Part of it is because he loves having fun and hates to ruin a moment just because of one of his insecurities. Kale is a bit full of himself at times. He knows that he’s hot and wears it on his sleeve. If a girl starts hitting on him, it only boosts his ego even more. For him if a girl gives him a lot of compliments and daunts over him, he falls for her even easier. Any girl that puts him down in a non-joking manner is out the door before they can finish their thought.
Kale is the kind of guy that likes to keep it to just one girl. He doesn’t cheat or sleep around and he prefers to have a steady girlfriend to having a bunch of relationships. When he’s single he does love to flirt and party with random girls although he rarely has one night stands. Despite being a bit of a romantic, he can’t seem to keep a girl for long. Normally it’s because Taylor chases them off before it gets too serious. One thing that he is victim of is partying, a lot. If he isn’t making music, he’s partying. When he’s at home he normally goes out every weekend. Along with partying, he tends to do a bit of drinking although it isn’t an unnatural amount. To him partying and drinking go hand in hand. Turning twenty-one had been the best day of his life in his opinion. His age had never been a problem, but being legally allowed to drink made it easier.
Something that everyone learns about Kale once they become friends with him is that he’s overprotective of his friends, especially Taylor. If anyone treats one of his friends badly, he’ll walk right up and give them a piece of his mind. He isn’t afraid to stand up for those that he loves. Normally he’s a happy-go-lucky guy yet he has a hard time accepting people outside of his circle of friends. The one thing he can’t stand is overly rich and preppy people. Anyone that thinks they’re better than him he could care less about. They tend to annoy him more than anyone else. He’s more of a rocker and can’t stand to watch any sports on TV. Normally he spends most of his time doing something related to music. Kale was raised around music and to him it’s like a second nature to him.

history summary:
Little Kale was a bit of a mistake when he was born twenty-two years ago. Joseph Smith and Nadine Reynolds had a short relationship with each other that was more about the sex then love. When Nadine found out that she was going to have a child, she considered all the options before settling on keeping the child. Mainly it was out of her Christian beliefs along with the encouragement of her current boyfriend and fellow band mate, Ryan. The couple decided to raise Kale as if he was Ryan’s biological son and to never tell Joseph about his son. The plan was simple enough, and surprisingly easy. Kale fell for the lie that his mother and Ryan had made. There were times when Nadine even questioned if he was really related to Joseph.
Shortly after Kale’s first birthday Nadine and Ryan officially married. No one ever suspected that the happy family of three had a secret. Eleven months after the wedding, Nadine gave birth to her second child. The little girl was named Lydia and was the final member to their small family. Even though his little sister gained most of the attention, Kale adored his little sister and always did. Both children were taken on the road whenever the band was on tour which resulted in Kale falling in love with music before he even could write his name. Growing up on a tour bus wasn’t the best atmosphere, but for Kale it was home. To him he wasn’t in a family of four, he was in a family of four plus millions of fans that adored him.
For the first seven years of his life he lived on the road with his parents and spent two months out of the year at a rental house in New Jersey. By the time he was eight years old his parents decided that home schooling wasn’t good for the two children and bought a permanent home in New York City while they took a break from their music career for their children. Going into the public school system was terrifying for young Kale. The one thing he didn’t expect was to make friends instantly with most of the kids in his class while his younger sister struggled with being accepted. Naturally Kale was outgoing and wasn’t afraid to meet new people after meeting so many while on tour with his parents. At school he was instantly accepted, kids at that age were still friendly.
Public school was great for Kale up until he turned about fifteen. Things went downhill for the boy as his parents went back to touring and left him at home alone with his sister and a nanny. While his parents were gone, he went rifling through their drawers and found a birth certificate saying that his real father was some man named Joseph Smith. Confused by this fact, he called his mother about it and she revealed to him that he was in fact adopted by Ryan and that it didn’t matter because his biological father was an awful man. Unsure of how to take the news, he turned to drinking. Without the supervision of his parents, he was able to get away with nearly anything. Partying became his whole life despite his young age.
When his parents came back from tour, they decided to move him to a private school which really did help shape him up. Although he didn’t stop drinking and partying, he no longer showed up to school drunk after being hit so many times by the nuns. By the time he was finishing his junior year, his parents decided to give him another chance. This time he watched his behavior for fear of getting caught. During his senior year of high school, a freshman by the name of Taylor Walker caught his attention. She was into music like him, and he knew that he wanted to be friends with her the very first time he ran into her at a concert. It didn’t matter to him that she was three years younger, she was fun and that was all that matters.
After he graduated, he decided to go on a tour with his parents again when he was twenty. It was his chance to make connections with people and plus college was boring him. Deciding that the school year was best because Taylor would be busy, he traveled with his parents for two straight months which confirmed his dream of being a musician. Once he got back, he began to focus more on music and has been attending college for music. Two years after the tour with his parents, he saw a preview for a show and decided to submit his best friend in as a joke. Her being accepted was a shock, and she was mad at him for a few days. Kale thinks it’s entertaining and is still in shock that his best friend got on the show. Currently he's on tour with parents as their lead guitarist.

roleplay sample:
The word abortion echoed through Andy’s head as he brought the mouth of the nearly empty bottle of rum to his lips and took a long swig that would normally burn the back of his throat, but he was beyond that point by now. It had been an hour, possibly two, since Tegan had left although he couldn’t be certain. He’d lost all track of time as he sat on the empty couch and replayed their conversation over and over again. After he’d actually had time to calm down and think about what he said, he immediately began to regret it. He had been too stunned by her words at the time to react. When she had said bye and left, he regretted not throwing himself at her and begging for forgiveness, like his gut instinct had been. Instead he had just stared at her dumbfounded. Taking another swig, he stared at the now empty bottle, his dark eyes slightly glazed. Of course he’d run out of the one thing that was keeping him sane, or at least in his opinion. He glared at the bottle for a second before throwing it at the wall where it smashed. The glitter of the broken shards of glass caused him to pause and stare for a minute before finally standing up.
Grabbing his wallet from on top of the television, he made his way out the door. Walking past Tegan’s dorm room without a second glance, he made his way off school grounds. Once off the grounds, he had no idea where to go. All that he knew was that he had to get away from the school and get rid of the thoughts that filled his head. His stomach churned each time he thought about how she threatened to get an abortion or kill both herself and the baby. There was no way he could live without her, and she ever got an abortion he wouldn’t be able to forgive her. All he hoped was that it was an empty threat. His stomach flipped again at the thoughts, and his eyes fell upon the neon sign of the open club. Staring at the club for a second emotionlessly, he finally decided to walk inside. The thought of more alcohol sounded pretty damn nice right about then. Pushing open the doors of the club, he was greeted by loud music. A grin crossed over his lips as he made his way over to the crowded bar. As he sat down on one of the hard wood seats, he nodded at the bartender. ”Vodka.” He yelled over the loud music. Downing the shot of the liquid, he frowned unhappily as it had no affect.
Five shots later, he began realize just how drunk he was starting to get. His mind was clearer now then it was when he as sober, but everything else was shut down. The whole getting drunk thing was having the opposite affect that he had been hoping for. Instead of forgetting his problems, his mind was at full force now. Next to him a brunette girl that was obviously a fear years older kept on talking to him. After his third shot he’d started to talk back, and now he was actually joking around with the girl. It was obvious the girl was attracted to him and flirting, but Andy could care less about her. She was someone to talk to in order to escape his thoughts. Studying the girl, he began to notice all of the things he didn’t like about her. Her brunette hair was too straight, she was too tall, and she smelt too spicy. Everything that he loved about Tegan, the girl wasn’t. By just talking with the girl he was beginning to realize how much of an ass he had been to her. No one could be as amazing as she was. This girl wasn’t even close in comparison, instead she was just making him want Tegan more.
